This entry is a convenient little post-script to my previous one: we're staying in the Supernatural fandom for a wonderful project ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) setissma created, called SPN!Christmas In August. In order to counteract an apparent slump in the fandom and remind everyone of the generosity, heart and creativity of the community, setissma asked people to create a list of five Supernatural or J2 things that would make them happy: fic, icons, art, you name it, anything goes. Then the idea was to check out those wish lists and do what you could to make at least one of them come true. I would have loved to have made more of a contribution to the effort but August is over already and I'm late hosting this as it is! I checked out a lot of lists: in one of them smangosbubbles asked for "Mind-reading!Dean", which captured my imagination. My take on this concept was informed by years of reading X-Men comics and here we see Dean in a typical Professor X "To me, my X-Men!" pose. It's unlikely that Dean would actually think that though, so maybe we should have a guessing competition about his thoughts, or the thoughts he's hearing? Personally, my money's on something like "Sammy! Bring the lubricant shotgun!"

Y!Gallery is a fan art website dedicated to yaoi, homoerotica, slash and the male body. It's populated by some exceptionally talented artists and, given its focus, it's no surprise that I feel totally at home there. Just like Livejournal, the site is full of different clubs and communities dedicated to a diverse range of interests. One such club is S.K.E.L.E.R.O.T.I.C. which is focused on, you guessed it, the eroticisation of the skeleton. Sounds kinda creepy, huh? Yeah, creepy and sexy! The club recently had a fan art contest, with the theme 'skull'. And you know what a sucker I am for a good fan art contest... hence this ink artwork of Supernatural's Dean Winchester.
I've been thinking about Dean a lot lately and what a striking, brilliant character he is. He really came alive in Season 2 and entered a league of his own. The series finale "All Hell Breaks Loose Part II" has just aired here and I'm not ashamed to admit that at times I was practically weeping. Sam may be the 'emo' brother but no one can break my heart like Dean can. This drawing started off as what I thought would be a sexy and edgy image but ultimately I feel it subconsciously turned into a great character study of the tragedy of Dean Winchester.
Art warning: features an almost entirely naked Dean in a lascivious pose. It also contains a slight horror theme.

March 2007's mutantx_fanart challenge is Mutant X: Crossover! Yep, that's right, it's mix 'n' match fandom time! I've been working on this submission for the last month or so (hence the reason it's so late!) because it's a big one. After all, such a wonderfully stimulating prompt deserves nothing less! This picture is my first and, believe it or not, only piece of Supernatural fan art to date featuring Winchester cock. I know, what's going on?!? I need to get more smutty with his fandom, stat! When I first started drawing Dean/Sam I tended to focus on slightly less conventional and more experimental art techniques (for my fairly limited repertoire that is) i.e. pen, pencils without ink, etc and I approached this one in a similar fashion: I wanted it to be rough and messy and it turned out messy, but not messy in the way I wanted. Still, it's got Winchester penis, so how bad could it be?!?

Notice something a little different? Yup - I have a paid account! My LJ friend lostandalone22 has just shouted me two months of paid status! How awesome is that? Or, more to the point, how awesome is lostandalone22?!? The answer is 'very.' Thanks so much Tori Love!!! A gift like this requires a gift in return so you are hereby formally invited to submit a request to me for a commissioned artwork of your choice: any person, any fandom, any style - it's yours. Although, that said, you know what I do best and, given our shared tastes, I have a feeling that won't be a problem haha. ;) Seriously though, don't feel hemmed in by slash if you'd like me to draw something else...
In the meantime, here is a picture I drew in November last year especially for you as a way of saying 'thanks' for all the comments, feedback and support you've given me and my work in '06. You've been my most dedicated 'fan' these past six months, commenting on almost everything I've submiited, and it really means a lot. That said the picture didn't turn out nearly as well as I would've liked (the head's a little wonky) but I promise to do a much better job for your gift art!

I never set out to write Supernatural slash: the fandom struck me as immense and overcrowded and exponentially expanding plus what I have read was so damn impressive that I never thought I could really make much of a significant contribution to the cause. I still don't but nonetheless there's just something about those Winchester brothers that can suck you in (and I know I'm far from the only 'victim' of their slashy allure) and one night in May this drabble just pounded its way out of my fingertips and on to the keyboard.

Finally. It's here. Supernatural slash art. Yep, that means incest, twincest, wincest. Whatever you want to call it, it's hot in a very bad way.
Aside from a quick ink sketch of Jensen, which I drew when the show first started airing here in Australia, and a just as quick Dean/Sam pen doodle I made a fortnight ago while I should have been paying attention at work, this is my first Supernatural art. I was eager to start drawing this pairing but at the same time kind of nervous about where to begin. So a few weeks back I finally took the plunge and I haven't stopped drawing yet! I've made eight arts so far and I'm sure there will be many, many more to come.
